Fair Trading Commission Essay Competition Winners
 
To further raise the awareness of young consumers, the Fair Trading Commission recently held an essay competition entitled, “What Is Consumer Protection and How Does It Affect Me, As a Young Consumer?”. The competition was open to students between the ages of 13 and 15.
 
The first prize winner of an Apple iPad was 15-year-old Yannic K. P. Boyce of Combermere, while second prize winner Emily Wilson of the Ursuline Convent took home a Samsung Tablet. The third prize of a Kindle Fire went to Hannah Rowe of Harrison College.
 
The Commission also presented a cash prize of $500.00 to Combermere, the school of the first prize winner.
 
The presentation of the awards took place on June 14, 2013.
