Application for Approval of the Acquisition of EXXON MOBIL (ESSO) Assets in Barbados by Simpson Oil Limited (SOL)

The Fair Trading Commission, pursuant to Section 20 (6) of the Fair Competition Act CAP.326C, gave consideration to a Merger Application filed on August 26th 2013, by Simpson Oil Limited (SOL) and Exxon Mobil (ESSO). The Application sought approval from the Commission for SOL to acquire all of the assets of ESSO in Barbados. The Commission conducted an investigation into the proposed merger in accordance with Section 20 (7) of the Fair Competition Act.
