FTC TOWN HALL MEETINGS

ON BARBADOS WATER AUTHORITY

STANDARDS OF SERVICE 2016

The Fair Trading Commission will host two town hall meetings in July, in an effort to engage the public on the proposed Standards of Service for the Barbados Water Authority (BWA).

The meetings will be held on Tuesday, July 5th at 7:00 p.m. at the Alexandra School, Speightstown, St. Peter and Tuesday, July 12th at 7:00 p.m. at Solidarity House, Harmony Hall, St. Michael.

Members of the public are encouraged to attend and share their views on the Commission’s Consultation Paper. This document outlines recommendations for the development, monitoring and enforcement of benchmarks, which will be used to create mandatory, minimum Standards of Service for the BWA. These standards address a range of issues, including meter reading, response to complaints, water quality and compensation for customers.

The Consultation Paper may be obtained from the Commission’s office or accessed by visiting the Public Consultation Notice: Barbados Water Authority Standards of Service 2016 [pdf].
