REQUEST FOR PUBLIC COMMENT ON THE BARBADOS LIGHT & POWER COMPANY LIMITED’S GRID CODE BATTERY ENERGY STORAGE SYSTEM (BESS) 
 
The Fair Trading Commission (“the Commission”), in conjunction with the Government Electrical Engineering Department, is seeking public input as part of the consultation process on the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited’s (BLPC) Grid Code Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) Requirements for connection at Voltages 24.9 kV and below.
 
This current document submitted by the BLPC supplements the existing Grid Code approved in 2017 and proposes requirements for new BESS projects connecting to the public grid. As part of this consultative and evaluation process and pursuant to section 4(4) of the Fair Trading Commission Act, CAP. 326B of the Laws of Barbados, the Commission will consider written comments from interested parties on the matters outlined in the document.
