REVIEW OF THE BARBADOS LIGHT & POWER COMPANY LIMITED RATE REVIEW HEARING DECISION

BARBADOS

No. 1 of 2010

IN THE MATTER of the Utilities Regulation Act, CAP. 282 and the Fair Trading Commission Act, CAP. 326B of the Laws of Barbados.

AND IN THE MATTER of the Utilities Regulation (Procedural) Rules, 2003;

AND IN THE MATTER of a Decision and Order of the Fair Trading Commission dated the 25th day of January 2010 relating to the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited application for a review of electricity rates pursuant to Section 16 of the Utilities Regulation Act, CAP. 282 of the Laws of Barbados;

AND IN THE MATTER of the Barbados Consumer Research Organisation Inc.’s “BARCRO” Application for a Review of this Decision;

THE FAIR TRADING COMMISSION HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that: It has denied BARCRO’s application for a review of the Commission’s decision of January 25, 2010.

The Commission finds that BARCRO in its Motion for Review and Written Submissions has not demonstrated that errors of fact or law or any other ground for review exist. BARCRO has not provided evidence to support a variation of the Commission’s decision and accordingly their application and the requests contained therein are denied.

The Decision and Order may be viewed on the Commission’s website at www.ftc.gov.bb

Dated the 22nd day of September 2010.
