DECISION
Price Cap Plan 2012

The Fair Trading Commission has issued its Decision on the Price Cap Plan 2012 (PCP2012) which will govern the adjustment of rates of the regulated telecommunications services of Cable & Wireless (Barbados) Limited. This Decision will take effect from April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2015.

The structure of the PCP2012 will be based on two service baskets, Basket 1 for ‘competitive’ services and Basket 2 for ‘non-competitive’ services.

There will be a freeze on increases in the prices of all regulated services in the first year, April 1, 2012 to March 31, 2013. In the subsequent two years, increases in the price of residential landline services will be capped at a maximum of 5% or at the level of inflation whichever is lower. Other domestic services in Basket 2 will be governed by a price cap index. International services, which are in Basket 1, will not be subject to a price cap index.

Copies of the Decision which provides full details of the Price Cap Plan 2012 may be obtained from the office of the Fair Trading Commission, Good Hope, Green Hill, St. Michael between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m. Mondays through Fridays.

Dated this 29th day of March, 2012
