ANALYSIS OF ANNUAL STANDARDS OF SERVICE REPORTS APRIL TO DECEMBER 2017
 
The Fair Trading Commission has issued its Analysis of Cable & Wireless (Barbados) Limited (C&W) Annual Standards of Service Report and its Analysis of the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited (BL&P) Annual Standards of Service Report, for the period April 2017 to December 2017.
 
The former report provides an assessment of the performance of C&W, with respect to both the Guaranteed and Overall Standards of Service, with attention given to claims for compensation regarding breaches of the Guaranteed Standards of Service. The latter report provides an assessment of BL&P’s compliance with the Guaranteed and Overall Standards of Service, with attention given to system reliability performance.
 
In the case of C&W, the nine-month review period is due to a change in the company’s financial year end, which was March 31 but is now December 31. The nine-month review period for BL&P is as a result of the institution of the Commission’s Standards of Service Decision January 1, 2018 – March 31, 2020.
