The Fair Trading Commission is seeking to recruit a Chief Executive Officer.
The Chief Executive Officer is required to lead the Fair Trading Commission and will be responsible to the Commission for the administration and enforcement of the Fair Trading Commission Act and the laws relating to utility regulation, fair competition and consumer protection, which the Commission has jurisdiction to administer.
  • The successful applicant should have:-
  • Experience in and knowledge of regulatory issues;
  • Demonstrated ability to successfully lead an organisation, together with general management acumen and strong management skills;
  • The ability to embrace the vision of the Commission, think strategically and lead creatively;
  • Interpersonal skills to effectively interact with the Commission’s stakeholders.
  • A sound understanding of the Barbados business environment.
Previous experience gained through association with a regulatory agency is highly desirable together with a thorough knowledge of the local, regional and international regulatory environment.
Applicants should possess a postgraduate degree in Business Administration, Management, Law, Economics or other related discipline and have no less than ten years’ experience in a senior management position.
The appointment will be on contract with a comprehensive remuneration package.
