No. 0002 of 2009

IN THE MATTER of the Utilities Regulation (Procedural) Rules 2003;

IN THE MATTER of the Utilities Regulation Act, CAP. 282 and the Fair Trading Commission Act, CAP. 326B of the Laws of Barbados;

AND IN THE MATTER of the Application by the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited for a review of electricity rates pursuant to Section 16 of the Utilities Regulation Act, CAP 282 of the Laws of Barbados;

THE FAIR TRADING COMMISSION HEREBY GIVES NOTICE that:

The PUBLIC HEARING of the application by the Barbados Light & Power Company Limited (“the Applicant”) for a review of electricity rates will commence on Wednesday, October 7, 2009 at 9:30 a.m. at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre. The hearing is expected to continue daily until Friday, October 23, 2009.

Only the Applicant and the nine Intervenors, Barbados Association of Retired Persons and Barbados Small Business Association (represented by Public Counsel), Barbados Association of Non-Governmental Organisations, Barbados Consumer Research Organisation Inc., Canbar Technical Services Ltd., Sentinel Group Caribbean Inc., Dr. Roland Clarke, Mr. Errol E. Niles and Mr. Douglas B. Trotman will be allowed to actively participate in the proceedings.

The hearing otherwise will be open to the public.
