FINDINGS REPORT ON THE PROPOSED PILOT PROGRAMMES OF THE BARBADOS LIGHT & POWER CO. LTD.

The Fair Trading Commission “Commission” has issued its Findings Report on the Barbados Light & Power Co. Ltd.’s (BL&P) pilot programmes.

The BL&P is proposing to introduce three pilot programmes relating to a Time-of-Use (TOU) Tariff, a Renewable Energy Rider (RER) and an Interruptible Service Rider (ISR).

On October 21, 2009 the Commission issued a consultation paper on the pilot programmes and convened a meeting on November 20, 2009 at the Lloyd Erskine Sandiford Centre to allow all interested parties to comment on these programmes.

The Commission has reviewed all of the information submitted and is satisfied with the conditions under which the pilot programmes are being offered except for the duration. The Commission has advised the BL&P that the pilot programmes should be undertaken for no more than two years from the date of implementation which should be no later than July 1, 2010.

The full Findings Report is available at our office and on our website at www.ftc.gov.bb.

Dated this 19th day of March, 2010
