Commission Hosts Competition Law & Policy Training Workshop PDF Print

On March 30 and 31, 2011, the Fair Trading Commission hosted a workshop entitled “Competition Law & Policy”. The programme was formulated to give business persons, administrators and legal professionals a comprehensive overview of the core concepts of competition law and policy and an in depth understanding of the Fair Competition Act. It also focused on the benefits of effective competition and the broader policy objectives of competition policy. The long-term goal of the programme is to develop a critical mass of business persons that can sustain a lasting culture of competition in Barbados.

Staff of the Fair Trading Commission also presented on topics such as dominance and shared their experiences of anti-competitive practices in Barbados.
