Why is my electricity bill increasing each month even though Iím using the same or less electricity? PDF Print

Your monthly Electricity bill can increase due to any of the following reasons:

(1) Increases in the fuel adjustment charge (see response to question 1).

(2) Increase in the number of days in the billing cycle.

(3) Under-estimate of a previous month’s bill which was based on an interim reading.

(4) Reduced efficiency of electrical appliances in your home as they become older.
