PUBLIC NOTICE

FEED-IN-TARIFF POWER PURCHASE AGREEMENT TEMPLATE FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY SYSTEMS SIZED ABOVE 1MW AND UP TO 10MW

The Utilities Regulation Act (as amended by the Utilities Regulation (Amendment) Act, 2020) (the “URA”) at Section 24B (1) authorises the Fair Trading Commission (the “Commission”) to, among other things, set the terms and conditions of interconnection agreements or agreements to supply electricity to the public grid entered into by renewable energy producers.

The Commission has formulated a template Feed-in-Tariff Power Purchase Agreement (FIT PPA) for above 1MW and up to 10MW renewable energy systems to serve as a reference for prospective parties.

The document may be used as a guide for agreements for the sale and purchase of energy generated by renewable energy systems supplied by independent power producers and purchased by the Barbados Light & Power Company (BLPC). By way of this template, the Commission hopes to incentivise and facilitate the transition from fossil fuels to electric energy generated from renewable energy sources.

The FIT PPA can be accessed here. Should you have any queries, you may call the Commission at 424-0260/424-0329 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it
