How can the fuel adjustment charge portion on my bill be higher than the energy charge? PDF Print

The energy charge on your bill includes non fuel elements. Only 2.64 cents/ kWh is included on the energy charge portion of the bill. This amount is not enough to cover the full fuel cost and the fuel adjustment charge makes up the difference. As the price of fuel increases on the world market, the fuel adjustment charge increases and can at some times be greater than the per kWh energy charge.

(Note: the fuel adjustment charge for domestic and general service customers  has been subsidised by government and will remain at 23.5375 cents/kWh until further notice)
