FAIR TRADING COMMISSION ISSUES CALL FOR COMMENT ON FEED-IN-TARIFFS

The Fair Trading Commission issued its Decision on Feed-in-Tariffs for Renewable Energy Technologies above 1MW and up to 10MW on September 30, 2020. In seeking to develop these rates, the Commission undertook a public consultation in 2019, which solicited information from various stakeholders. The model used to develop Feed-in-Tariffs considers many inputs, amongst them capital costs, operational costs, taxes and insurance.

Since the publication of the Decision, feedback has indicated that there is some concern about the level of the rates. Given the concerns expressed, the Commission, once again, invites stakeholders to submit any project information that may demonstrate their concerns. This information must be verifiable, i.e., relevant invoices, quotations and underlying assumptions where extrapolations are made must be submitted. All information submitted will be treated as confidential.

Documents should be submitted by 4:00 p.m. on Monday, November 9, 2020 to:
Director of Utility Regulation
Fair Trading Commission
