PUBLIC NOTICE

EXTENSION OF FEED-IN-TARIFF FOR RENEWABLE ENERGY TECHNOLOGIES UP TO AND INCLUDING 1MW

On December 21, 2021, the Fair Trading Commission informed the public of its proposal to extend the Feed-In-Tariff (FIT) Decision for renewable energy (RE) systems up to and including 1 MW and invited comments or objections from all service providers, renewable energy producers, representatives of consumer interest groups and other parties with an interest in the matter.

The Decision related to the aforementioned was issued on September 24, 2019 and refers to RE systems up to and including 1 MW, categorised by size and technology, and sets out rates at which RE generators will sell energy to the Barbados Light and Power Company Limited.

Having received no objections to the extension, the FIT Decision for RE systems up to and including 1 MW will be extended until June 30, 2022, or until the Commission determines new FITs, with appropriate terms and conditions, whichever is earlier.

The FIT Decision can be reviewed on the Commission’s website at www.ftc.gov.bb.
