IMPLEMENTATION OF A RETROACTIVE BILLING POLICY FOR REGULATED SERVICE PROVIDERS
 
The Fair Trading Commission (“the Commission”) is seeking to implement a Retroactive Billing Policy applicable to the regulated utility service providers in Barbados. Namely, the Barbados Light & Power Company Ltd., the Barbados Water Authority and Cable and Wireless (Barbados) Ltd.
 
The Commission is therefore seeking public input as this assists in determining the conditions under which the policy will be applicable, the period of time the utility will be allowed to retroactively bill and the types of redress available. As part of the evaluation process and pursuant to section 4(4) of the Fair Trading Commission Act, CAP. 326B of the Laws of Barbados the Commission will consider written comments from interested parties on the matters outlined in the consultation document. Responses should be submitted via mail or by email no later than 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, June 26th, 2024.
